Her label mates The Cool Kids are in town this Tuesday at Cafe Du Nord. AMG's classic "Jiggable Pie" is in here--AMG and DJ Quik, AKA the Fixxers, are at Mezzanine on Monday the 18th. Ladies first! "Fast Women" is an all uptempo, all-female rap mix. Some female emcees that are heard often are included, like MC Lyte and Queen Latifah, but there are a few seldom heard artists like Silk Tymes Leather (Jermaine Dupri protegees) and L.A. Star (who wasn't from L.A., by the way). It's not meant to be an all-inclusive female rap anthology by any means--it's only 30 minutes long. But an enjoyable 30 minutes, for sure.
